Ecomobl Electric Skateboard: Definitely worthy of your skate shoes

In early 2022, an electric skateboard project called Ecomobl was launched on Kickstarter and successfully raised US$630,000, significantly exceeding the original plan of US$100,000. The Ecomobl is a self-balancing electric skateboard with a go-kart tire embedded in the middle. The Ecomobl team unveiled the mass-produced product, and The Verge reporter tried it out.
The engineering machine a year ago still had problems of one kind or another, and its performance was not very stable. It would occasionally fail to start, and there was no sense of security when standing on it. The production version has been greatly improved and optimized. The team redesigned the internal electronic components and greatly improved the stability. As advertised, it can easily handle whether it is flat roads, grass, rolling mountains, or muddy puddles.
Ecomobl has almost zero learning cost. Apply force with the front foot or lean forward to accelerate, and use force with the rear foot to decelerate or drive in the opposite direction. The moment you put your foot on it, Ecomobl immediately activates its self-balancing system. One end of the skateboard is equipped with a battery, and underneath the other end is a control circuit equipped with various motion sensors. The Verge reporter injured his foot the day before the experience, but despite this, he was still able to skate freely. He said that while skating, the feet don’t need to put much pressure on them at all.
While riding very cool, Ecomobl is equipped with headlights and taillights on the skateboard, which will automatically change when you turn to ensure the safety of riding. This electric skateboard still has several small disadvantages, such as the short cruising range, which can last about 6 miles (about 9.6 kilometers) on a single charge, and the driving time is about 40 minutes to an hour. For this reason, the Ecomobl team equipped it with a fast charger that can fully charge the skateboard in 20 minutes.
